Over a decade ago, Konami introduced a new look to the Castlevania series. Gone was the notion of lives and linear stages, and in their place was a giant castle to explore, twice in fact. The game was widely acclaimed, and soon others like it began to appear on Nintendo’s handheld systems. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is third game to appear on the DS and the seventh game in the genre, and with some interesting departures, it is the best so far. Since the debut of the ESRB rating widget, it has become one of the best ways to dig up information about unannounced games. A recent search shows that Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia for the Nintendo DS has been rated “T” for Teen and features blood and fantasy violence. At this point, very little about the game is known. Konami has trademarked both the title and logo, but everything else remains a mystery. We’ll go out on a limb on this one, but it’s safe to say that Dracula will somehow pop up again with yet another castle to explore only to be stopped by a new vampire hunter. Either that or it’s about petting cute fuzzy bunnies. Only time will tell.
