Disgaea 4: Return, the PS Vita redux of Disgaea 4, will be launching in North America and Europe this summer, NIS America announced recently. Titled Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited for its western release, the game will feature new characters, scenarios, spells, music, and all DLC present on the PS3 version.

Developer Nippon Ichi announced higher than expected earnings forecasts: operating income up to ¥303mil and net income at ¥203mil, up from respective figures of ¥107mil and ¥59mil. The company credited the jump to Disgaea 3: Return selling “higher than expected,” with Disgaea 4 on the PS3 also selling well in North America and Europe.

In a recent earnings report, Nippon Ichi revealed that strong sales of Disgaea 4 helped the company outperform its expectations for the first half of the fiscal year. With a previously forecasted net loss of 10 million yen, the company instead reported net earnings of 122 million. Considerable DLC sales for Disgaea 4 further bolstered these numbers, seemingly unhindered by the PSN outage earlier this year.
In spite of the change in numbers, Nippon Ichi has not adjusted its annual forecast figures, citing aspects of upcoming products that have not been finalized.

Y’know the annoying thing about importing stuff? I mean, apart from the cost, the language barrier, the hassle of explaining to your credit card company that no, you’re really you and you’re okaying the transaction? Actually wait, that stuff’s annoying too, but it’s the waiting that really gets to me. Oh well. Anyway, on with some media: Atelier Totori, Disgaea 4, Growlanser 4 Overload, Noora to Toki no Koubou, and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. Continue reading ‘Mass Media 07/25/11’ »

Title says most of it, which makes my job a lot easier. Anyway, care of the official site is the announcement that Disgaea 4 will hit US PS3s in September, and will arrive in Europe sometime in Fall. Additionally, NIS are running a naming contest for an in-game item, skill, and NPC, the details of which can be found this-a-way.
You didn’t think you’d get through this week without some media, did you? If you said no, great. If you said yes, I’m hurt. Deeply. But enough babbling, here’s what we have: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2, Disgaea 4, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2, Final Fantasy III iPod, Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection, Gloria Union, Gungnir: Mayari no Gunshin to Eiyuu Sensou, R.P.G. Mode, Sekai Yuusha, and Tales of Xillia. Have at it!

Capping Sunday off with some media for you, in hopes that you’re not getting hit with still more snow. Also, does anybody else ever imagine fight scenes and chases set to something classic? Like, a guy jumping through a window and doing a parkour bounce off the far wall and landing in a dumpster, but with “Just a Gigolo” by Louis Prima playing in the background? Sometimes I empathize with the guy from Seinfeld who zoned out every time he heard “Desperado”. But I digress.
Today’s media update: Disgaea 4, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2, Everyday Messiah, Tales of Xillia, and Tales of the Abyss 3DS. Continue reading ‘Mass Media 02/20/11’ »

How you North American kids handling post-snowpocalyptia today? Got a bit more Disgaea 4 and Tales of Xillia for you. And after this is up, I’m going to take some aspirin and lie down, because helping to move three tons of snow seriously takes the fight out of a person. But I digress.
