Square Enix’s DKΣ3713 event has been full of good news for Japanese gamers, and most of it will probably end up as good news for North Americans. The biggest news thus far is that when Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children finally comes to Japanese Blu-Ray in March, it will include a playable demo of Final Fantasy XIII for the PlayStation 3 along with new videos of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy XIII Agito on the disc. Square Enix has not announced any plans for the North American Blu-Ray release, but those willing to pay import price will be in luck. Japan and North America are in the same region when it comes to movies, and games are region free. Many a gamer out there is waiting with bated breath for the release of Final Fantasy IV DS on July 22. In the meantime, the Square Enix Members site has announced a “Fan-Powered Q&A” with the FFIV development team. Questions can be submitted via the online form, which can be accessed only by those who’ve registered with the site. A lucky handful of questions will answered. You can go to the site’s blog for complete details and links to the question submission form.

This coming August a handful of lucky Square Enix fans will have a chance to get in on an invite-only party with the mysterious name of “DKΣ3713 Private Party 2008.” To win an entry, fans will have to put their names in at the Square Enix Members site. The big event will take place in Tokyo’s Harajuku fashion district on August 2 and 3.

As is supposedly common knowledge, the Xbox 360 has a dearth of RPG titles available for it. Sure there’s Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga… ok, maybe not a dearth. Still, it could always use more!
