Fable II DLC Delayed

Microsoft announced today that the Fable II expansion Knothole Island has been delayed. Originally due out December 22, it has been pushed back to late January 2009.

Albion Peers Through a Knothole

Fable II will be getting some DLC lovin’ this December. First up, the paid Knothole Island expansion, which gives heroes a new place to go with new quests, items, and characters.  It’s new.  Second wil be a free bit of DLC that bestows some of the things you’ll get with Knothole and also allows you to play co-op with anyone that’s downloaded the paid content.  And finally, there’s an Albion theme available right now for the recently released New Xbox Experience.  Woot.

The Knohole Island expansion will cost gamers 800 Microsoft Points, while the theme costs 250.

Fable II Brings Music to the Masses

Fable II fans who can’t get enough of the game’s score can soon get their own copy. On November 25, the soundtrack, which will include twelve tracks from the game, will be available at retail outlets and on iTunes.

Fable II‘s score was composed by Russell Shaw, of Fable and Black & White fame, and also features a main theme by Danny Elfman, who has written music for Spider-Man, The Simpsons, and Big Fish. Over ninety musicians were involved in the recording process, including the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra.

Fable Release No Longer a Fable

Microsoft Game Studios and Lionhead Studios announced today that Fable II is headed to the US on October 21 and to the UK on October 24, with further international releases in the coming months. On August 13 the previously announced pub games, which allow players to wrack up loot they can later use in Fable II, will be available on Xbox Live for 800 points — or for free with pre-orders at participating retailers.

Fable II Demo, Interview with Peter Molyneux

I had a chance to sit down with Peter Molyneux, the man behind the upcoming Fable II. Fair warning, there are a lot of details, plot and otherwise, and it’s a fairly long read. Continue reading ‘Fable II Demo, Interview with Peter Molyneux’ »

Microsoft Tells Tale of Fable 2

Some interesting details have come to light about Microsoft’s action-RPG sequel, Fable 2. The game has apparently been completed, but the bulk of new information is about Fable 2‘s online play. Apparently, the online part of the game features a great deal of co-op play, allowing players to invite other players into their game by way of purple orb items. It seems players can not only battle, but possibly even marry and have children.

Microsoft Game Studios, Lionhead Give Players Free Money*

* Money may not be real-world currency.

There’s always a catch. Pre-order the upcoming Xbox 360 title Fable II, and you’ll be able to download the Fable II Pub Games for free when it arrives on Xbox Live next month. Pub Games includes “Keystone,” a Craps and Roulette hybrid; “Spinnerbox,” an incarnation of the notorious one-armed bandit; and “Fortune’s Tower,” a press-your-luck game. Winnings from these gambling endeavors can be transferred later to the pockets of the player’s character in Fable II and give the would-be hero a financial boost.

Those who loathe pre-orders can pick up Pub Games for 800MS points on Xbox Live or wait until the release of Fable II, which will include the virtual casino.
