Square Enix just confirmed via a phone conversation that the Final Fantasy IV remake for the Nintendo DS will be coming to North America. The newest iteration of the game features updated 3D graphics similar to those found in DS version of Final Fantasy III, larger enemy party sizes, a slightly increased difficulty, and a new summon creature called Whyts. This creature’s stats begin at zeros across the board, but by completing character-specific minigames with the stylus, players can develop Whyts in any way they wish.
At this time, Square Enix would not confirm a release date but said a full press release will be forthcoming.
