Little King Makes Big Debut Down Under

Gamers who happen to be in Melbourne this weekend for the eGames Expo will be the first English-language audience to get a look at Little King’s Story. The upcoming Wii title by Rising Star Games boasts an unusual mix of RPG, simulation, and real-time strategy elements. Players take on the role of king and must manage their townspeople and expand their kingdom. The game will be playable at the convention for the first time outside of Japan. The rest of us will have to wait until early 2009 to get our hands on it.

Little King Looks to the Little People

If you’re a budding artist then Marvelous Entertainment and XSeed Games have just the contest for you. The companies have announced today that they’re holding a fan art contest for their upcoming Wii title Little King’s Story. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to draw a “UMA” i.e. an Unidentified Mysterious Animal, though the UMA can take the form of a bird, beast, specter, bizarre human, or pretty much anything you can dream up. The prize? Having your artwork turned into an in-game character. There will also be 99 runner-ups whose artwork will appear in the in-game museum.

Entries must be emailed or mailed to the company by August 1, 2008. For full contest rules and entry details see the game’s site.
