As part of the franchise’s 25th anniversary, Capcom announced Mega Man Xover, a social RPG for iOS. Appropriately for the title, Xover crosses over all Mega Man worlds. Players take control of a new robot tasked with rescuing the series’ existing heroes, who have been trapped in a separate dimension by Dr. Wily and Sigma.
Xover is set for a Fall release in Japan, under the title Rockman Xover. For the curious, the official site is here.
Summer rolls on and the heat just isn’t letting up. Who said suburban Chicago could turn into southern Louisiana? How’s everybody else out there holding up? If you’ve got time for the news, gather ’round and listen up. In this week’s episode:
- One of Sony’s insurance groups sues to avoid being legally liable for damage from the hack. Next time Sony, get them to agree before showing the bill.
- Gameloft stands accused of forcing its employees to work 100+ hour weeks and faking deadlines to maintain crunch time. And they thought Gameloft wasn’t ready for the big leagues!
- Capcom’s Twitter Guy accidentally implies fans are to blame for Mega Man Legends 3‘s cancellation. The internet reacts in the usual reserved and dignified manner.
- 1UP posts some interesting analysis on the decline in JRPG localization. It sure would explain an awful lot. Looking right at you Square Enix. Sega, you too.
- Wal-Mart prepares to publish its sales data for video games. I’m sure that internal memo marked “Join Us Or Die” is just for marketing purposes.
- Zeboyd Games announces that jumping to Steam caused sales to skyrocket. #pcgamingmasterrace

Last week I finally picked up Mega Man X: Command Mission (hereafter referred to as XCM) again after quite a long hiatus from the game. The last time, I’d gotten about halfway through and ran into a boss that quite literally could kick my collective Reploid butts four times over. I restarted it due to losing the story after so much time, still not sure if I could enjoy it enough to make it all the way through. Continue reading ‘Mega Man X: Command Mission – Staff Review’ »
After his father was lost in space a few years ago, Geo stopped going to school and spent a lot of time looking at the stars. While looking at the stars one evening, Geo meets an alien named Omega-Xis. It turns out that Omega-Xis knew Geo’s father, and he decided to help Geo protect the Earth by fusing together to become Mega Man. This fusion allows them to pulse into an ordinarily invisible plane known as the wave world, a place that has been infested by beings known as FM viruses.
