In an interview with Famitsu, four developers of The 3rd Birthday – Yoshinori Kitase, Hajime Tabata, Motomu Toriyama, and Iasmu Kamikokuryo – broke down a few of the more interesting features of the upcoming PSP action RPG. Creative producer Tetsuya Nomura had a few things to say as well, in a separate interview that was otherwise centered around Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Woo. That was a frustrating little head-cold. But now I’m back on my feet, and I have a whole notebook full of scrawled notes and shorthand, which is unfortunate because I don’t read shorthand. Fortunately, it didn’t seep through to the beautiful pages I reserved for our sit-down with director Hajime Tabata and artistic director Isamu Kamikokuryo. In a blast from the past, I spent some time a little while ago replaying Parasite Eve for our yearly Halloween folderol. So this week we’ll be taking a look at some of the weapons Aya can use, and how they’ll affect your strategy in battle. Continue reading ‘Strategy Session – Parasite Eve’ »
The latest pages of Famitsu have some details regarding the PSP release of Parasite Eve: the 3rd Birthday. Square Enix is always happy to create new genres, and it seems this game will be a 3D gun action game. Project director Hajime Tabata called the game a “true third person shooter” and said it would be different from Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII. Square Enix’s DKΣ3713 event has been full of good news for Japanese gamers, and most of it will probably end up as good news for North Americans. The biggest news thus far is that when Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children finally comes to Japanese Blu-Ray in March, it will include a playable demo of Final Fantasy XIII for the PlayStation 3 along with new videos of Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy XIII Agito on the disc. Square Enix has not announced any plans for the North American Blu-Ray release, but those willing to pay import price will be in luck. Japan and North America are in the same region when it comes to movies, and games are region free.
