Square Enix has announced they are revisiting the SaGa series, with a new installment planned for the PS Vita. This comes on the heels the series’ 25th anniversary, and while the title has not been named yet, it is planned for a 2015 release. Series creator Akitoshi Kawazu is back on board, with Kenji Ito on the soundtrack and character designs by Tomomi Kobayashi.
Also part of the announcement was that Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song for the PS2 is coming to the PlayStation Store in Japan. A release date was not given at this time.
SaGa series creator Akitoshi Kawazu offered a brief comment to Dengeki Online regarding the state of the long-awaited next installment. Though few details were available at this time, Kawazu said that a new SaGa game is “priority number one” for him, and that “while things are still going slowly and have to be taken one step at a time, I can say that development is coming along, so there’s no need to worry.”

Y’know, I love Fallout 3 and all, and Broken Steel finally retcons the stupid ending, but I get the feeling it’s not going to add what I really want: getting to wear Col. Autumn’s sweet coat, and more President Eden. Ah well. At least mods can fix one of those. Anyway, on to the media: Lunar: Harmony of the Silver Star, Demon’s Souls, Final Fantasy Legend II DS, and Blazing Souls Accelerate. Check ‘em out: Continue reading ‘Mass Media 05/21/09’ »
