Square Enix Lists Gamescom 2014 Lineup

Square Enix has revealed the titles it will be showcasing at the upcoming Gamescom. On Consoles and PC, the titles include Final Fantasy XIV, Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix, Lara Croft and the Temple of Orisis, and Nosgoth. For handhelds and mobile, the list is Dragon Quest IV, Dragon Quest VIII, and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call.

Gamescom will run from August 13 to 17.

Theatrhythm Curtain Call Dated Globally, Collector’s Edition Revealed

In a recent announcement, Square Enix confirmed that Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call is planned for a September release; 9/16 in North America, 9/19 in Europe. A collector’s edition will include a special pouch, a “best of” Curtain Call music CD, a five-track remix selections CD, and five premium CollectaCards featured in the game. This bundle will be priced at $69.99/£44.99, and will be limited to a 5000-print run.

Theatrhythm Curtain Call Going Global

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call will release in North America and Europe, Square Enix recently announced. Apart from the 60-odd series characters, the game also features Versus and Quest Medley modes; the former pitting players against each other, and the latter letting players select a party to take into battle.

Theatrhythm Curtain Call Gets SaGa Music DLC

Square Enix will be adding songs from the SaGa series to Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call: “Sewers” from Romancing SaGa, and “Four-aristocrat Demon Battle 1” from Romancing SaGa 3. The DLC was not given a release date; Curtain Call itself hits the 3DS in Japan on April 24.

Theatrhythm: Curtain Call Details Revealed

Square Enix has released a few more tidbits about Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call. In particular, the sequel will add Machina and Rem from Type-0 as playable characters, while new enemies include Golbez, Zeromus, Gigantuar, Goobbue, Sahagin, King Behemoth, Braska’s Final Aeon, Bomb King, Reno, and Magitek Armor.

More notably, the game will feature a one-on-one Versus Battle mode, where players compete against both computer controlled enemies and each other for the high score. Quest Medley is another new mode, putting players on a “Chaos Map” where they complete variable-length quests; you’ll also receive quests through StreetPass.

Curtain Call is set for an April 24 release on the 3DS in Japan.

Theatrhtyhm: Curtain Call Tracks Listed

Square Enix has identified more of the tracks to be featured in the recently announced Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call. These include the following: “Battle at the Big Bridge” and “Airship” from FFV; “The Decisive Battle” and “Edgar and Mash’s Theme” from FFVI; “Hunter Chance” and “You’re Not Alone” from FFIX; “Seymour Battle” and “Zanarkand” from FFX; “Ten Yori Furishi Chikara” from FFXIV; “Advent: One-Winged Angel” from FFVII: Advent Children; “Warera Kitareri” from FF Type-0; and “Crimson Blitz” from Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.

Theatrhythm Sequel Announced For to 3DS

On the off chance you haven’t had your fill of Final Fantasy music-themed gameplay, Square Enix has you covered. Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call has been announced for 3DS, coming to a Japan near you in Spring 2014. The game is slated to include over 200 songs, including tracks from Final Fantasy XIV and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, 60+ characters, and a multiplayer versus mode.
