Valkyria Chronicles 2 to Sport Familiar Faces

Not content with sending only more youngsters to fight in Not!Europe, Valkyria Chronicles 2 has seen fit to pull familiar characters back into action. Former frontman Welkin, sometimes known as Fishy Artist McSketcherson, and his pal Alicia are back as playable characters, alongside a character from the anime (Lamarre) and others from the comic.

Valkyria Chronicles 2: Preorder Bonuses? In MY SRPG?

Early adopters of the upcoming Valkyria Chronicles 2: The Gallia Royal Military Academy, in Japan at least, get some preorder swag in the form of a box set marked “The Document of Gallia 1936.” The set includes a soundtrack, a 30-minute companion DVD, and some unique in-game items.

Valkyria Chronicles 2 is due out in Japan on January 21. There is no information as to whether the preorder bonus applies to the US release, scheduled for summer of 2010.

Valkyria Chronicles Sequel Headed to PSP

Famitsu recently revealed that a sequel to Valkyria Chronicles is in the works. Unlike its predecessor, which was for the PS3, Valkyria Chronicles 2: The Gallia Royal Military Academy will be for the PSP.

Set two years after the events of the first game, Valkyria Chronicles 2 follows the story of military cadets dispatched to suppress an insurrection in the southern part of the country. And you thought your final exams were rough! A release date hasn’t been announced, but the game will be out in Japan sometime this winter.
