Blizzard Ventures Into Russian Realms

World of Warcraft continues to expand far and wide. On August 6 Blizzard Entertainment  will release a Russian WoW and its expansion The Burning Crusade, making it the fifth European-language version of the game (already released are: English, French, German, and Spanish).

“The launch of the Russian-language version reflects our continuing commitment to make World of Warcraft even more accessible for gamers throughout the world,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We also hope that providing a fully localised version of the game will further enhance the gameplay experience for our enthusiastic Russian community.”

Russian gamers will be able to create a dedicated Russian account. Russian accounts will have a special subscription rate especially tailored for the Russian market, though players will be limited to the Russian realms. Current players will also be able to have their accounts converted into Russian accounts. Those wanting further information can check out the official Russian site.
