Even More Mass Effect 2 Details: Two Discs Makes It Go Faster
BioWare’s Community Coordinator, Chris Priestly, released a few more choice details about the hardware Mass Effect 2 comes with and requires. In particular, he confirmed the following information:
– There are two game discs for both versions on both platforms, and that the Collector’s Edition contains a making-of DVD with other bonus information.
– PC installation is standard fare, requiring both discs to install and one disc in the drive to play, with no in-game swapping.
– The 360 version allows installation provided you have enough memory, but has one disc swap point regardless; Priestly stated it was positioned to cause no interference with gameplay, and need only be done once. No back-and-forth swapping is necessary.
– Asked why two discs were necessary, Priestly replied, “Because you cannot fit this much awesome on one disc.” Presumably lots of bump-mapping and Jennifer Hale’s voice have something to do with it, too.
