RandomNPC – Video Game RPG Reviews, Editorials, and Features

Well, I suppose this shouldn’t be a huge surprise. Yes, after frequent delays, false starts, and lack of time to search for a new job, I’ve decided to put What Happened This Week on hiatus.

It’s not an easy decision, but suffice to say I’m not happy with where I am right now, and I need more time to dedicate towards changing that. Finding a better paying job is a start, as retail finance has been an unending string of disappointment and spot loyalty checks. The job hunt’s hard enough when you’re at it full-time. When you feel like just going back to sleep at the end of a work day it’s virtually impossible.

The show will be back if I have any say in it. I enjoy dissecting the news too much to not do it when time permits. Whether I was right or wrong in my assumptions and predictions, I wanted to learn. I wanted to find out what makes the industry tick, what makes Person X say Thing Y and develop Product Z. Throughout everything I stressed that I was no expert, with no inside information of any kind; just a member of the game-playing public with access to Google. That was the point. It wasn’t about me, it was about what I noticed, what we all could notice.

Truly, I don’t know how many of you listeners are out there. Some days it felt like I was just shouting at a wall. But for those who did tune in each week, those who gave me kind words of encouragement and support, you have my thanks and appreciation.

What Happened This Week will be back, ladies and gentlemen. Until then, stay sharp. We’re only uninformed if we choose to be.
