Level-5 has announced that Yokai Watch 2 has exceeded six million shipped copies. This includes both retail and download copies across all three versions of the title (Ganso, Honke, Shinuchi). The company had previously announced last week that total series sales reached the seven million mark.

With Yokai Watch 2: Ganso and Yokai Watch 2: Honke selling a combined three million units since launch, Yokai Watch 2: Shinuchi looks to join its predecessors. Level-5 announced that the latest version had passed the one million preorder mark ahead of its December 13 release.

With Yokai Watch 2 already available for the 3DS in Ganso and Honke versions in Japan, Level-5 revealed that a third version – Shinuchi – is also in the works. This version, priced at 4,968 yen, includes a Buchinyan medal and QR code for Jibakoma with the packaged version, while download copies will include a Masked Nyan. New quests and boss monsters have also been added.
Yokai Watch 2: Shinuchi comes out in Japan on December 13. Save data from previous versions will be compatible with Shinuchi.

Level-5 RPG Yokai Watch 2 reportedly exceeded 814,000 preorders prior to its launch in Japan last Thursday. While the series has yet to go global, Level-5 head Akihiro Hino recently indicated that the company is considering an expansion into western markets. No further detail was offered at this time.

Level-5 announced that Yokai Watch 2, a sequel to their ghost-capturing 3DS RPG, will launch on July 10 in Japan. The game will come in two versions – Ganso and Honke, with a special medal unique to each game – and will reveal the origin of the titular watch, which allows protagonist Keita to see ghosts.
