RandomNPC – Video Game RPG Reviews, Editorials, and Features

Straight from the ‘We can’t MAKE this stuff up’ department comes a new RPG from Media Vision Entertainment, the same folks behind the Wild ARMs series. It’s called RIZ-ZOAWD, and it’s a Wizard of Oz RPG for the DS.

Players guide Dorothy through Oz as she looks for magic eggs that can get her back to Kansas since she’s apparently fresh out of ruby red slippers. Along the way, she’ll team up with familiar faces such as the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Toto.

The game’s controls are all based around the “Trackball System,” a virtual trackball that can be spun with the stylus. Dorothy and company will move in the direction that it spins.

Battles will be standard turn-based fare with enemies appearing on the field map. Combat is limited to three party members, but Dorothy can swap teammates on the fly.
