Ys Online to Make 2009 Debut
Last year MMO publisher Key To Play announced that it would be bringing the Ys series to computer screens in Asia and Europe. Today they confirmed Ys Online – Call of Solum for an early 2009 release in Europe with a closed beta beginning this month. The game will be free to play and is in the Ys world where players will be tasked with protecting the Romune Empire from invading hoards of monsters.

I’ve played a couple Ys games and enjoyed them, but I’m not sure how you’d work it into an MMO. They all have the same basic mechanics, and there aren’t really classes to work with.
