Bioware has announced on its official blog that Mass Effect 2 will be released in North America on January 26, 2010. The company also announced some shiny pre-order bonuses for the game.

Pre-orders placed at GameStop will receive the Terminus Assault Armor and the Blackstorm Heavy Weapon. The Terminus Assault Armor increases Shepard’s run speed and augments his or her shields. It also gives weapons extra ammo. The Blackstorm Heavy Weapon creates small but powerful gravity wells.

Pre-orders placed at other retailers will receive the Inferno Armor, which helps increase the wearer’s response time and has sensors that detect conditions such as elevated heart rates. This means that Shepard will be better at negotiating with others in addition to being able to run faster and do more damage with combat powers.
