Atlus Announces Izuna Sequel
Atlus has announced that it is time to bring Izuna out of early retirement with Izuna 2: The Unemployed Ninja Returns. Like the original, the game will be a dungeon-crawler for the Nintendo DS that features a unique blend of amusing dialog with a healthy dose of exploration.
The sequel will have several new features including more dungeons, new enemies, and the new TAG team system. Players will be able to take any two party members into a dungeon, which allows for more strategies and the ability to combine forces for extra powerful TAG attacks.
As for the plot, Izuna and the gang are getting back together to celebrate a wedding and the promise of free food. During the event, Izuna’s sidekick Shino mysteriously decides to go looking for her long-lost sister. Not only that, but foreign gods have arrived to Japan, and they are none too pleased with Izuna and decide to start causing problems. Hopefully, it won’t be too tall an order for the penniless unemployed Ninja. And fans of the original’s provocative art style will be pleased to hear that aspect hasn’t changed one bit.
Izuna 2: The Unemployed Ninja Returns is currently scheduled to invade North American shelves on July 22 and is rated “T” for Teen with Mild Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, Suggestive Themes by the ESRB.
