Media.Vision’s iPhone Game Revealed as Chaos Rings

Remember that vague job announcement Media.Vision posted back in February for developers for an iPhone RPG to be published by Square Enix? Yesterday, Square Enix revealed the game’s name — Chaos Rings — and a few details.

The game will have several pairs of different characters competing in a tournament called Arka Arena for the prize of eternal life. Players will follow each pair through the story. The game features 3D visuals, as shown by the trailer on the official website, and touch controls. Characters can attack solo or in pairs; combo attacks do more damage but can also leave the characters more vulnerable.

Square Enix also revealed some of the development staff: producer Takehiro Ando, who also produced Crystal Defenders; character designer Yusuke Naora, who has worked on several Final Fantasy titles, Vagrant Story, Romancing Saga, The Last Remnant, and Estpolis: The Lands Cursed by the Gods; scenario writer Yukinori Kitajima, whose other work includes the adventure game 428: Fusa Sareta Shibuya de; and composer Noriyasu Agematsu, who contributed to the Wild ARMS 5 soundtrack.

Chaos Rings does not have an official release date, but Square Enix has promised that it will be available soon on the iPhone app store via a worldwide release.
