Current Quests: Week of 09/30/2007
Have you ever stared at a website and wondered what the staff are planning, what they are working on, and what they are about to post right at that moment? Me neither. But those of you who nodded enthusiastically at the first sentence are in luck. This is the first of what we hope will be a weekly feature here — updates on what each staff member is working on for RandomNPC.
Our fearless leader-bot, Derek “Roku” Cavin, is currently playing through Mega Man Star Force for the Nintendo DS and Growlanser 5 for PS2; he plans to review those for the site. He’s also rented Soul Nomad. He recently wrote reviews for games such as Xenosaga 3 and Baten Kaitos Origins, and those are waiting in the proofing inbox. Slacker.
Michael “CactuarJoe” Beckett is impatiently waiting for the release of Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions for PSP. He’s EV training his Manaphy in Pokemon Pearl in the meantime.
Special Agent John “Karlinn” Boske is wrapping up his reconnaissance on Silent Storm. Preliminary reports indicate the presence of heavy tactical goodness with minimal story. His pending case files include Final Fantasy XII and .hack//G.U.
When he isn’t implementing site development requests and ideas, Jerry “XeroZohar” Swain is on a Zelda nostalgia trip; specifically, he’s taking a cruise with Hyrule Ship Lines in Wind Waker. His only complaints are the high rupee costs and the overabundance of sailing. Perhaps he needs a different getaway.
As for Michael “SlayerGhaleon” Kozinko, he was last seen chasing skirts in Persona 3.
Jason “Ishmael” Schreier has been enjoying a balanced diet of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Neverwinter Nights 2, and as of tomorrow The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. You may expect reviews of the latter two titles in the future.
As for myself, I recently polished off the Xenosaga trilogy, which was on hold due to the arrival of Wild ARMS 5. I’m currently playing Roku’s copy of Eternal Sonata, which makes me wish I had a better TV so I could fully enjoy the brilliantly beautiful graphics.
We’d love feedback on what we’re doing, so that we can better feed your need for RPG reviews, so be sure to leave comments on any games you’d like to see us focus on, and keep checking back with us as we work to build this into a great review site!
Slayer of God:
I’ll have you know that I’ve been focusing on leveling and climbing up Tartarus lately. Summer vacation allows no chasing of skirts, and my maxed Courage and Charm weep at this.

Is the lag people have been whining about in the PSP port of FFT still in the American version? I probably wouldn’t be bothered by it, frankly, since FFT’s battles aren’t really fast to begin with, and I’m not really shocked the testers overlooked the lag since odds are they aren’t familiar with the original version of the port of a ten-year-old game…
