Current Quests: Week of 11/18/2007

Another week, another update on what everyone here at RandomNPC is doing.

Derek “Roku” Cavin is juggling far more tasks than humanly possible, but he’s no ordinary human so he will be just fine. Rune Factory and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn are competing for what little free time he has.

Michael “CactuarJoe” Beckett has been slacking off in Disgaea: Hour of Darkness instead of writing reviews for Front Mission DS and Wind Waker. If this continues, we will have to confiscate his prinnies, dood.

Jerry “XeroZohar” Swain has recovered nicely from having his wisdom teeth removed. After enjoying the tastiness of solid food, he finished up a playthrough of Homeworld 2 and started working on Lifeline, a voice-controlled game for the PS2.

John “Karlinn” Boske is off visiting relatives for the week. He’s been dropping into IRC to visit every now and then, so I’m not going into pouncetackling withdrawal. He’s finishing up his review of Arcanum and replaying Deus Ex for the 145,874th time.

Michael “Slayer of God” Kozinko is blissfully devouring his copy of Digital Devil Saga in between training his Spiritomb and Blissey and making plenty of smartass remarks.

Jason “Ishmael” Schreier’s vacation continues. The meanie hasn’t even sent us a postcard. In the meantime, we’re putting all his underwear in the freezer so he’ll have a pleasant surprise when he comes back.

As for me, I’m down to the last few hours of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. It’s making me want to pick up The War of the Lions, but I have other things demanding my attention. I’m getting Mass Effect and Wings of the Goddess (the newest Final Fantasy XI expansion) this week. I played the Bioshock demo that I downloaded through Xbox Live, and while I really liked what I saw, I just don’t think I can handle an FPS. Something about it disorients me, and I tend to panic and do crazy things like set entire rooms on fire and beat enemies with pipe wrenches long after they are dead. But who knows? Maybe I will surrender to the creepy mid-century setting.

To our readers in the United States: have a happy Turkey Day! To the rest of you: you’re turkeys, but we still hope you have a great week.
