Little King Makes Big Debut
Last month Marvelous Entertainment announced Oh-sama Monogatari (also known as ‘Project O‘), a Sim/RPG for the Nintendo Wii in Japan. This week Marvelous Entertainment and XSEED Games jointly announced that they will be bringing the game to North American shores as Little King’s Story. The game is due out in North America this coming winter.
“Little King’s Story has an art style that is very ‘story-book’ in look and one that we feel will be universally loved,” stated Yasuhiro Wada, Managing Director of Marvelous Entertainment Inc. “The game has a fairytale quality that will intrigue and delight gamers the world around.”
“Little King’s Story is a game we felt very strongly about offering to the United States,” remarked Jun Iwasaki, President of XSEED Games. “The game truly reflects the high quality gaming experience, uniqueness, and game design creativity that we look for, with the ability to appeal to a wide audience while providing enough depth for seasoned gamers.”
And PAL gamers needn’t worry as it was announced today that Rising Star Games will bring Little King’s Story to PAL territories in Q1 2009.
The story revolves around a young lad by the name Corobo who stumbles upon an enchanted crown that turns him into a king. He’s now charged with transforming his quiet town into a fabulous kingdom. Gameplay will combine elements of simulation and real-time strategy. Players will need to manage the citizens and involve them in tasks such as city-building, treasure-finding, and warfare — since being king also means conquering rival territories. Controls will center around the Wiimote which will function as a sceptre.
