Eternity Not So Eternal Says Tri-Ace

In a move surprising move, Tri-Ace announced this week via Famitsu that it would be teaming up with Sega (rather than Square Enix) to publish its latest RPG, End of Eternity.

End of Eternity is set in a future where the earth’s environment so degraded that humans must now take refuge in a giant spire called Bazel. There, players meet Zaphyr, a young man of seventeen, Vashyron, his friend and coworker in a military firm, and a young woman known only as Subject #20. Subject #20 is the result of an experiment. She is nineteen and, when she learns that, due to the paramaters of the experiment, she has only one more year to live, she escapes the research facility.

Battles will take place in the Bazel tower in dungeons and fields located on each floor, with each having a separate gameplay mode, switching between an overhead and a third person view. A combination of real-time and turn-based gameplay also seems to be part of the deal.

For those who’d like a look at the game its official Japanese website is now open for business. End of Eternity will be coming out on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 and is expected for winter 2009 in Japan.
