Final Fantasy IV DS Confirmed for North American Release

Square Enix just confirmed via a phone conversation that the Final Fantasy IV remake for the Nintendo DS will be coming to North America. The newest iteration of the game features updated 3D graphics similar to those found in DS version of Final Fantasy III, larger enemy party sizes, a slightly increased difficulty, and a new summon creature called Whyts. This creature’s stats begin at zeros across the board, but by completing character-specific minigames with the stylus, players can develop Whyts in any way they wish.

At this time, Square Enix would not confirm a release date but said a full press release will be forthcoming.

    “a slightly increased difficulty”

The question is, will this be actual difficulty or the characters being shitty posing as difficulty.

    Also, more character development please.

It sounds like it’ll be genuinely harder to offset the new things like retooled skills. It’s a complete rebalancing. Examples of this include support for more enemies at once. As for how it’ll be harder, we’ll just have to wait and see.
