Current Quests – Week of 8/03/08

It’s Sunday again, so it’s time for another round of our Current Quests.

Michael “Cactuar Joe” Beckett is playing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the first time. Amazingly, I was NOT the last person on Earth to get to hunt good ‘ol dad in his own castle. He has also made a little progress in Rondo of Swords when not killing the undead.

John “Karlinn” Boske is spending his time in Balder’s Gate. He is also preparing to wow us all in his next podcast with his ready-for-radio voice. If that wasn’t enough, he’s also playing Pathologic, a poorly translated, poorly optimized engined, and extremely obscure adventure FPS set in a town under quarantine due to a plague. You play one of three characters trying to sort it out, and it is reported to be “kinda fun, if not intriguing.”

Our fearless leader Derek “Roku” Cavin is practicing his Japanese with Persona 4. He seems to be loving it, but because one game isn’t enough, he’s also squeezing in a little Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions and Final Fantasy Tactics A2.

Jerry “XeroZohar” Swain is enjoying his PlayStation 3 with a bit of Folklore. It’s supposedly pretty good, but for the time being, the PS3 is relatively devoid of RPGs, so I guess you take what you can get. With plenty of good games coming, that problem should be rectified soon. At least there are lots of other good non-RPGs for it.

Cortney “Alethea” Stone, Erika “Wolfraven80” Lachapelle, and I are all working through the latter parts of Final Fantasy IV DS. Cortney is struggling with Leviathan, and Erika is ever so slightly further along fighting the trap doors of the Sealed Cave. Between side quests of “Find a Job, Any Job” and “Install Two-Inch Blinds Without Requiring Another Trip to the ER,” I just bested Bahamut and am about to take on the Giant of Babil. Look for my review in the next day or so.

And that concludes another round of Quests.
