3D Dot Game Heroes Gets Customized

Upcoming Atlus joint 3D Dot Game Heroes will feature a character editing system, allowing players to build their heroes from the ground up. Coming courtesy of the Playstation Blog, Atlus PR and sales manager Aram Jabbari announced that the system will let players design not only their in-game appearance, but also movement and attack animations. Jabbari also stated the North American version will come pre-stocked with more custom creations than the Japanese release, and that players can share their creations on the 3DDGH community website.

3D Dot Game Heroes is scheduled for a May 11 release.

Glory of Heracles – Staff Review

Over the course of the last decade or so, North America has seen a remarkable influx of games and series which, in the past, had been exclusive to the east. From Shin Megami Tensei to Fire Emblem, the widening acceptance of gaming in general has allowed for a much broader cross-section of Japanese gaming to be seen on our shores. However, there still remain a number of long running series which have yet to make the jump across the pond. Glory of Heracles, whose first game was released in 1987, is one of these, and although the game contains many elements that are carried over from earlier entries in the series, the fact that this is the series’s first international release works strongly in its favor.

Mass Effect 2 (PC) – Staff Review

Say what you will about Bioware, but they take no task lightly. By any measure Mass Effect was an epic affair, and topping that in a believable fashion – while integrating the characters and choices that made the first game meaningful – must have posed nearly countless problems for the team. To say they pulled it off is a gross understatement; Mass Effect 2 is a vast improvement over its predecessor in nearly every respect and a superb middle chapter in the series.

Mass Effect 2 (Xbox 360) – Staff Review

As far as games go, a sequel is simply the second game in a series. A good sequel properly follows up the first game’s events. A great sequel takes the good in the previous game and builds on it while improving or eliminating the bad. By this measure, Mass Effect 2 is definitely a great sequel.

Bioware Arms Mass Effect 2 With More Free DLC

Bioware announced today on its forums that it will be releasing new free DLC for Mass Effect 2 on PC and Xbox 360 tomorrow at 12:00pm Mountain Standard time.

The DLC consists of a set of armor and a shotgun. The M-22a Eviscerator Shotgun “is a longer-range shotgun with armor-piercing loads.” Both pieces could prove useful in Shepard’s fight against the Collectors.

The downloads are available for free only via the Cerberus Network. Please be aware that any emails from Batarian traders offering DLC transactions outside of Council official activities are scams.

Strategy Session – Competitive Pokemon XXI: Pikachu

As of this weekend, Gamestop has a Pokemon event going, offering a shiny Pichu as a tie-in for the latest movie, and to encourage folks to preorder Heart Gold and Soul Silver. This shiny Pichu not only unlocks the Ilex Forest event in HG/SS, it also comes with two unique moves, Endure and Endeavor. Now, on the whole, Pichu isn’t a particularly useful little critter, so I thought we’d take a look at what can be done with its evolutions. This week, we’ll investigate Pikachu, the electric mouse everybody loves… Or would love to throw in a grain thresher.
